New South Wales National Squad- New South Wales State cadet fencing coach. Arash worked and trained by head coach Maestro Antonio Signorello (former Italian Olympic Team Coach). Responsibilities include organizing, managing and coaching the cadet team as well as private / one-on-one lessons. 2009- on going

New South Wales State Coaching Commission member- limited numbers of coaches are selected by the New South Wales fencing executives to monitor and implement programs for coaching. These programs are to improve the general coaching quality across the state. 2009 – on going

University of New South Wales Coach – University of New South Wales foil coach. Responsibilities are organizing and planning the training scheme for the trainees, group lessons and private /one-on-one lessons. Selector and manager of the UNSWFC representative team for Australian University Games (AUG).  2004- ongoing

Silversword Fencing Club Head Coach – Silversword is an under 18’s club, run at the Police and the Community Youth Club.     Julia Karpour (Foil, Saber)

    Experience/Abilities      
 

Trained and licensed under Maestro Antonio Signorello. Julia began fencing in 2003 at the UNSW fencing club. There she was actively involved in the club as the club treasurer. She has represented the University of New South Wales at various competitions around Australia where she collected a range of medals and trophies.

 

Julia has completed her Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Education and Masters of Music degrees at the University of New South Wales. In these she studied and worked with primary aged students, specialising in high school students. She is currently teaching music with the NSW Department of Education and Training.

 

Julia has been coaching at the SilverSword fencing Club since 2003.

    Hugh Cotman (Foil)

Hugh have been representing Australia in national and international championships in numerous occasions. For many years Hugh has been coaching and mentoring the Sydney Grammar Boys and leading them to many victories. Hugh's experience in personal training and injury management mixed with his fine coaching techniques has made him one of the great assets at the Silversword fencing club. His other experiences are:

    Wayne Sage ( Foil, Epee)

  Wayne has extensive experience in French style fencing. He has been coaching many students at schools as well as Sydney University and Macquarie University. Wayne's knowledge of fencing history also adds more to his fencing credentials. Wayne's other experiences are:

Sydney Girls High School Coach – Sydney Girls High School Foil Coach. Responsibilities are organizing and planning the training scheme for the trainees, group lessons and private /one-on-one lessons.

St Andrew High School Coach – St Andrew High School Foil Coach. Responsibilities are organizing and planning the training scheme for the trainees, group lessons and private /one-on-one lessons.

Sydney Boys High School Coach – Sydney Boys High School Foil Coach. Responsibilities are organizing and planning the training scheme for the trainees, group lessons and private /one-on-one lessons.

  Ivan has worked and trained in foil under Arash Kapour since 2003. Ivan has been actively coaching and planning the fitness and coordination training for the under 13s and under 11 fencers at the club. His other experiences are:
